Following on from the December post (Season’s Greetings!), when I put forward some ideas for last minute gifts for the season, one example was missing in the ‘make memories, not waste‘ section…. gifting a photoshoot! Quite frankly, I had not thought of it at the time!
However Sarah won a Ginger & Browns photo competition, in collaboration with Bartley Studios! The Winning Photo showed a picture of Bambi the St Bernard and Rainbow the Shih-Tzu, looking up at Sarah. They are both wearing Christmas bandanas which I had made for them!

So, on a chilly day earlier this year, we packed all four dogs and ourselves, in the mini, and set off to Warrington for the Photoshoot!
The Photoshoot
It took some time for the dogs to relax – Bobbin, especially would not settle at first! – but once they got in the rhythm of things, they turned on their inner-models, and some fabulous photos were taken! It was a wonderful hour of coaxing and bribing our doggy family to get into position / face the right way / stop licking drool of the St Bernard…. but it was a fun day, and the photographer was lovely and very patient with us all!

Tip: If you are planning something similar, for yourself or others, if there are any accessibility requirements, these should be discussed with the photographers beforehand – when Sarah and I arrived at the studio, I struggled to reach the venue due to the distance away from the carpark, and then had to climb a flight of stairs to reach the studio itself (I am disabled and awaiting a back operation, and so walking and climbing stairs is very painful for me).
The Preview
We were called back after a few weeks for the official reveal of the best photos selected! There was a cinema-like set-up on the ground floor, and both Sarah & I could not stop grinning whilst we watched the preview video!
We selected more photos than anticipated to be printed and framed for our walls, and these were picked up a few weeks after. In addition to these, we opted for a removeable hard drive with all the images taken, for the purpose of this blog post (and to set as screensavers, lol!)
The Results
We are so happy with the wonderful photos…. see for yourself!
