Have you ever noticed how sustainability advice often starts at full speed?
- Grow your own vegetables.
- Make all your cleaning products.
- Go completely plastic-free.
- Compost everything.
- Repair everything.
- Shop only at refill stores.
- Cycle everywhere….. Preferably while wearing an ethically made organic cotton cape.
Much of this advice is well intentioned. Some of it can be genuinely useful too.
But when it all arrives at once, it can feel less like helpful guidance and more like being handed a second full-time job.
Most of us are already juggling work, family, pets, health, household responsibilities, tight budgets and the usual unpredictability of everyday life.
Sometimes we are simply trying to remember what we planned for dinner. Redesigning our entire lifestyle before Tuesday may be asking a bit much.
